Our Flagship Curriculum

Real Stories, Real Teens

Our work with young people and youth professionals led us to develop our own curriculum program to help engage adolescents in reading while also helping them to develop socially and emotionally.

The Real Stories program engages adolescents in reading by connecting the to true stories written by teens.  The program has three distinct curriculum guides: Real Stories, Real TeensReal Jobs, Real Stories; and, Real Stories, Real Men.  Written in collaboration with Youth Communication, each guide helps facilitators foster meaningful discussion, provide hands-on activities and lead reflection that build toward academic and social-emotional competencies.  DWL also provides training and implementation support for the Real Stories, Real Teens program.
