Stronger materials and facilitators
I met Jennifer and learned about Development without Limits (DWL) while we both served on the Advisory Board for the Maine Mathematics and Science Alliance (MMSA) initiative Afterschool Coaching for Reflective Educators in STEM (ACRES). Through our conversations I realized the Jennifer and the DWL team had the skills and mindsets required to support the Transforming Teen Services: A Train the Trainer project of which I was the project manager. This federally-funded initiative required designing a train the trainer curriculum for library staff working with teens.
The curriculum needed to be customizable across the United States and needed to be accessible to library staff who had little to no experience facilitating informal learning for and with adults. Jennifer's team took on the work and delivered a product that exactly met our needs and was positively received by the library staff using and customizing the materials developed. Jennifer and her team also facilitated multiple trainings with the library staff who would use the curriculum. The DWL team quickly built rapport and trust with participants in the training which made for extremely successful experiences.
Working with Jennifer and the DWL team was a positive experience. As the curriculum was under development Jennifer kept in close touch to find out what changes needed to be made and to hear new ideas. All feedback was graciously accepted and integrated into materials. Jennifer was also a member of the planning team for this project and she was able to help us think through challenges and opportunities and also provided virtual training when we needed to shift as a result of the pandemic. I would, without hesitation, hire Jennifer and the DWL team again.
