Engaging Diverse Families in Out-of-School Time

This is a two day training for program leaders and staff who are ready to plan and implement family engagement with families from various backgrounds including English Learners. DWL supported program staff funded by the United Way of El Paso County's IGNITE initiative by providing 2 full days of onsite training to strengthen their family engagement strategies. DWL:

  • Provided participants with tools to develop their parent engagement strategies and supportive resources to help implement their program’s strategies.

  • Provided interactive opportunities for participants to enhance their communication strategies with parents to foster their meaningful engagement in out-of-school time programs.

  • Provided expert direction for out-of-school time programs to create and/or improve volunteer roles and related training for parents.
